Almost done

I don’t know why I’m so excited about almost finishing a book, except maybe for the fact that I have been an avid reader nearly all my life, and in the past couple of years I’ve only managed a few a year. As a kid and in my 20’s, I would go through 50 books in 6 months, easy. What’s been my problem lately?

Priorities, I suppose. I want to say, “I just don’t have time!” except that’s a lie. I think I have time for what I make time for. So I haven’t made time for reading. That’s really a shame, because there’s a buttload of things to learn from books, and I like to learn things.

Anyway, so I’m almost done with my book. I could have finished it this morning on the porch, but I felt like I was rushing through it. I really want to take in the end of the book (even though it’s a re-read) as well as I have the rest.

I have another plan. The last time I read this book, I picked a recommended book out of the list in the back of it and bought it. I’m going to do that this time, too. A real, actual paperback (or hardcover if that’s my only choice). I’m looking forward to it.

And in between when that gets ordered and when it arrives, I’m going to read (finally, for the first time) a couple of old books on finance. I think they’re old enough (written in 1910 and 1937) to be available for free on Amazon, which is how I came to have them. Otherwise, I may not have bothered. Or maybe I would have. I honestly don’t remember.

So I have reading plans again. And I’m almost done with the first book, which means I’m almost ready to do a write-up about it and post it here in the new Books I <3 section I’m going to pull together as soon as I have a book to put in it. And then I think I’m going to try to do a video on it, too, but maybe not. I haven’t decided with certainty yet.

Well, it’s almost time to start my day. I hope you’re having a great day!

And if you’re not having a great day, I hope you’re having an okay day.

And if you’re not having an okay day, I hope tomorrow is better.

Loves!

Badass

I’m re-reading a book (did I already mention that?), You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. It’s about the Law of Attraction, and manifesting, but it’s also about loving yourself.

I mean, every damn list in the book (maybe not every list, but most of them) ends in “Love yourself.”

I love it.

Ultimately, apparently, Sincero wrote a book on self-love, and I’m having a lot of fun re-reading it. I’m almost done, just about 1/6th of it left to get through. I’m sure I’ll finish it up tonight, and then I think I’d like to vlog about it, if I can do that tonight without getting rained out. I’m sure there’s a way. 🙂

Today I did not wake quite as early as yesterday. The possibility was there. Somewhere in the 3 o’clock hour I woke for the bathroom, and going back to sleep wasn’t instantaneous. I went to bed early, though, so had I woken then, I would have had about 7 hours of sleep, so I think I’m going to start paying attention to when I go to sleep, and what hour would be reasonable for waking if I ended up waking that early.

Because there were things I had thought about doing this morning that haven’t gotten done yet. I’m just a little disappointed about that, but not too much, because there’s a whole day left.

I’m working from home again today, so obviously not the whole day can be dedicated to things that don’t relate to the Day Job, but there’s a lunch hour in there that I can give at least 15-20 minutes to a vision board. HA!

Okay. I’m off to work, so to speak. I’m working on getting more water down than yesterday (yesterday, though, I probably managed 100 oz, so there’s quite a bit to go yet as I consume my first 40 oz).

Wish me luck! Have a good day!

Blog

I have an alert set up to go off every morning at 9am to remind me to blog. That’s all it says, actually, just Blog.

I’m in a rare mood this morning. One of motivation and energy and (pause to take a big chug of water) desire to do all the things possible.

Yesterday I watched a video from someone who seems to usually do videos about How To YouTube. But the video I watched was her talking about the Law of Attraction.

Oh, yeah, I remember that. I learned about it 3-4 years ago. Maybe five? I don’t remember the when, but I do remember the books. You Are A Badass, Ask and It Is Given, and another Badass book on Money.

I remember driving home and listing all the things I was grateful for them before they happened, and then watched them happen. I’m grateful for getting into traffic easily, then pulling out into a space that just appeared, giving me time to get my car placed where it needed to be for my drive home. I’m grateful that light is staying green for me, then driving through the very green light, catching just a glimpse of amber as I drove underneath it.

Silly things. Not big things.

Yesterday I watched the video, and I was riled up enough to pull out my yellow Badass book from the shelf and read a third of it before the day was over. And I’ll probably read the green Badass book before the end of the week. And the Ask book by the really-out-there Hicks’ couple.

I’m going to make things happen.

Watch.
